In 1984-the società è governata da un onnipotente partito unico guidato dal Grande Fratello, un personaggio che nessuno ha mai visto e che tiene costantemente sotto controllo tutti i cittadini, con la pretesa di voler piegare la realtà e le persone a un misterioso fine superiore. Idealmente l’obiettivo è la felicità del popolo, ma alla fine si identifica nell'ubbidienza cieca al partito e al suo leader.
Il film è del 1984, è girato da Michael Radford e interpretato da John Hurt, Suzanna Hamilton e Richard Burton (alla sua ultima apparizione cinematografica).
